The Feeder That Finally Ended Our 5 AM Wake-Up Calls
Let me paint you a picture: it’s 5:17 AM, and I’m being gently but persistently tapped on the face by a very determined ginger paw. This has been my reality for three years. My cats, Luna and Oliver, have internal clocks more precise than Swiss watches, and they’re not shy about demanding breakfast at dawn.
I’d tried everything—ignoring them (impossible), feeding them right before bed (they’d just wake up earlier), even those fancy puzzle feeders. Nothing worked. Then I discovered the Miaosical Dual Automatic Feeder, and honestly? It’s changed our household dynamics more than I ever expected.

First Impressions: Surprisingly Thoughtful Design
When the box arrived, I’ll admit I was skeptical. At around $29 (with the 40% off), I wasn’t expecting much. But unboxing felt like Christmas morning for a cat parent. The stainless steel bowls were heavier and nicer than I anticipated—no cheap plastic here. The food container is substantial, and everything clicked together with satisfying precision.
What really caught my eye was the clever stopper system.
That little plastic piece transforms this from a dual feeder to essentially two separate feeding stations. Luna gets her scheduled kibble while Oliver’s side can hold water or treats. It’s such a simple idea, but it solves the “what about wet food?” problem that plagues most automatic feeders.
The Peace Treaty Between Two Hungry Felines
My cats have very different eating styles. Luna is a grazer—she nibbles throughout the day. Oliver is a vacuum cleaner—he’ll inhale anything edible within a 10-foot radius. The opposite bowl design is genius. They can’t see each other eating, which means no more food jealousy or stealing.
It’s like having two separate restaurants in one compact unit.
Setting up the feeding schedule was easier than I expected. The LCD screen is straightforward, and programming six meals per day means Luna can have her small, frequent portions while Oliver gets his scheduled larger meals. The portion control is impressively consistent—each bowl gets exactly the same amount, which has been crucial for managing Oliver’s… enthusiasm.
Real-World Testing: Weekend Edition
Last Saturday was the true test. I slept until 8 AM. Let me repeat that: I slept until 8 AM. No face taps, no meowing chorus, no desperate attempts to break down the bedroom door. The feeder dispensed their breakfast at 6 AM as scheduled, and both cats were happily munching away when I finally emerged.
The quiet operation is no joke either. I was worried about mechanical noises waking me up, but the dispenser is nearly silent. The only sound was the gentle crunching of kibble from two very content cats.

The Little Things That Matter
- 🐾
Voice recording: I recorded “Good morning, babies!” and now they come running when they hear it. It’s oddly heartwarming. - 🐾
Dual power: The USB power with battery backup means power outages won’t starve my furry overlords. - 🐾
No jams: Three weeks in, and not a single kibble has gotten stuck. The clover-shaped rotor actually works.
Is It Perfect? Let’s Be Real
The stopper system is brilliant, but I wish they’d included two instead of one. Also, no batteries included means you’ll need to grab some D-cells separately. The 4.2L capacity is great for my two cats, but if you have more than two or giant breeds, you might need to refill more frequently.
The portion sizes (4g-8g per serving) work perfectly for my average-sized cats, but if you have Maine Coons or other large breeds, you might need to program multiple servings per meal.
My Rating: 4.5/5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
It’s not flawless, but for the price and the peace it’s brought to our home? Absolutely worth it. The missing half-star is for the single stopper and no batteries included.
What surprised me most wasn’t just the convenience—it was watching my cats adapt. They’ve stopped associating me with food delivery and started seeing me as… well, just their human. The constant begging has disappeared, replaced by genuine affection when I’m not holding a food bowl.
If your mornings involve feline alarm clocks or mealtime chaos, this little device might just restore your sanity and your sleep schedule. I’m currently enjoying my third week of uninterrupted mornings, and I’m never going back to manual feeding.

It works.

Likes:
It’s programable, even the portion size. The bowls are large and shallow, reducing whisker distress. The container holds a good amount of food, so you don’t have to refill often. It comes with a plug to hault the filling one one dish, if desired. When the power goes it, it remembers the old programming.
Dislikes:
Figuring out how to program it was not fun. it isn’t overly difficult, just particular.
Overall:
This does exactly what I need from it. It feeds the kitties in slow intervals so they don’t pig out and make themselves sick like one was doing. Next time I buy one of these, I’ll probably get a more expensive one with an app that allows for more programming slots instead of just the six offered by this device. For now, I’m very happy with the job this automated food dispenseer is doing.
works as expected

The automatic feeder shipped quickly and arrive new in original packaging. It comes with usb power cord and usb wall plug, it takes 3 D batteries for power backup. The programming is simiilar to our previous impaw cat feeder, I haven’t tried the voice recording. We have the optional steel bowls and we can hear when the sound of food hitting the bowls from upstairs.
After two weeks we had one incident where it stopped working and a tiny red light was flashing. The instruction booklet does not describe what the red light is means. It took us a while to figure out the red light means the feeder was jammed from some larger pellets mixed in the cat food. After we cleaned out the jam, it continued working as expected.
Good value

I live in the country so internet isn’t readily available 25/7. I wanted a feeder for my overweight cats that didn’t rely on internet programming. The instructions to program are not easy to figure out. You have to step through setting up the time and each feeding to set-up or adjust the settings. I just pressed set until what I wanted to adjust started flashing. Day 2 of use, 3 feedings on Portion 4 is too much. They may be afraid of it and not eating as much. So far, it is dispensing the food ( a mix of triangle and round shapes) well. The bowls are shallow so if they are not eating, the bowls will overflow.
Recommend for two cats owners

This is a gift for my daughter who has two cats. I love that it can record voices. We recently had a power outage, but it was fine because I had batteries in it. It’s reassuring to have both battery and outlet options. The stainless steel bowl is large and washable. The window showing the amount of food is small, so I wish the food portion was transparent. My daughter didn’t notice when the food ran out. If it was transparent, she would have noticed right away.
Reliable Dual Feeder For Two Fur Babies (With All The Extras)
📅 October 22, 2025
This dual feeder is a really handy way to feed two fur babies at once. A thoughtful touch: the included small stopper lets you convert it to a single bowl setup if you only need one. You can program up to six meals a day per bowl and adjust how many portions each meal dispenses. Cleaning is easy too – especially with the additional stainless steel bowls.
Did I like it? Yes. But more importantly – did the fur babies like it? Absolutely! They leapt right into dinner time. If you’ve got two cats (or one cat and you want peace of mind when you’re away), this feeder delivers modern convenience with smart scheduling and value to match.
Perfect for outside pets

I have two cats who refuse to come indoors so they get fed outside twice a day. We live in a rural area so other critters were coming over to dine and would chase them away. We remedied this by purchasing this auto feeder and placing it in a locations that is difficult for some animals to access. It works on d cell batteries and I was easily able to program the time and amount of the feedings. My cats are happy, I’m happy, we are all happy. The other critters not so much …
Miaosical Dual Automatic Cat Feeder 2 Cats
📅 July 10, 2025
I wanted to use this for a good while before I give my review. I bought this in January for our 2 cats. We have used it every day, non-stop since we bought it. The ease & convenience of feeding 3 times a day is great. I basically only have 2 complaints.
First, the amount of food that can fit in the container is pretty small. I read the reviews before I bought it & knew this might be a concern. It’s an inconvenience but not too much so as I walk past the feeder every day. I’s became my habit to refill it every three days. If it were out of sight, I expect it would empty & I would forget to check it as often as I should.
Second, and the most annoying problem is the mess. When the food is dispensed into the feeding bowls it seems to come out too fast. I end up with food on the floor all around the bowls. This means I end up having to sweep the floor every day. I’m not having too much dispensed at once. I double checked the paperwork to make sure that’s not the problem. The feedings are substantially smaller than the maximum amount suggested.
To summarize, the food holder is quite small, but the mess is very frustrating. I’m looking to find another, less messy automatic feeder to try out.

Great feeder, simple to program
📅 October 21, 2025
Piece of cake to set up. Don’t know why other reviewers said otherwise. And I’m technically challenged! I bought this to replace my original dual cat feeder because I couldn’t get it to reprogram and thought I’d have to give it away. But the single cat feeder I ordered for our new kitty was a disaster–couldn’t get the lid off, and there’s not blocking the exit hole so within a couple days it was crawling with ants! This one has a convenient block to close off the second feeder, which is perfect for one cat. So far, it’s operated perfectly.
Gatti contenti
